The LOC men's baseball team will be kicking off the 2023 season Friday February 17th on the road at Edward Waters University. 

The Magicians are eager to begin the season and rid the memories of last season. The Magicians finished their season 4-30 and at the bottom of the SIAC. This season the Magicians have no players selected to pre-season all conference teams and were picked to finish at the bottom of the standings. They will be using that as extra motivation.

The good news for the Magicians is that last year was last year and has nothing to do with this year. The team returns more than 50 percent of its roster and interim head coach Johnny Rudd was elevated to head coach. 

The Magicians also added skill and depth to the roster and are expecting big contributions from several transfers this season. 

The team will have the tough task of replacing Outfielder DeAnthony Baker who was selected to the 2022 HBCU All-Star Game.

Despite the tasks, the Magicians are optimistic about the season and are looking forward to opening day.
