Obituary for William H. "Bill" H. Morris, Sr.
ACTON, MA: William H. (Bill) Morris, Sr., 81 of Acton, MA died peacefully with family members at his side on Thurs, Jan. 19, 2012. William was born May 28, 1930 in Boston, MA, the son of Richard and Grace (Brown) Morris. Raised in Roxbury, MA, he was a longtime resident of Acton, MA. He was a decorated US Army Korean War Veteran. He was the owner of Morris Plumbing and Heating in Acton until his retirement. He enjoyed tending to his garden and greatly enjoyed his summer lakeside vacations with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anne (Carter) Morris of Acton; 7 children, William Morris and his wife, Heather, of Altamonte Springs, FL, Michele Morris of Marina Del Rey, CA, James Morris and his wife, Paula, of Londonderry, NH, Richard Morris of Acton, Michael Morris of Manchester, NH, Jeanne Canuel and her husband Todd of Exeter, RI, and Joseph Morris and his girlfriend Tricia Hardwick, of Acton; eight grandchildren, Neka, Laura, Bridget, Willie, Kimberly, Gabrielle, Samantha and Connor; sister, Grace Ann Mullen and brothers, Richard Morris and Peter Morris (deceased).
Visiting hours are Monday, January 23rd 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24th at 10am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St. Acton, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery,Concord Road, Acton Ctr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, or to the NE Center for Homeless Veterans, attn. Michael Grace, 17 Court Street, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
